Community Development Project Officer

What you'll be doing

  • Coordinating a new process to deliver Council's Community Project Grants to support meaningful initiatives in the community
  • Taking action to empower Council staff and the community to use the Logan Community Directory and ensure it is used to its fullest potential
  • Progressing priorities in the Community Development Action Plan that relate to resourcing our community  
  • Supporting the community development program in delivering excellence in everything we do

The boxes you'll tick

  • Demonstrated experience in project management is essential and a relevant qualification will be highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work autonomously to deliver effective processes
  • Skills in dealing with competing demands and management of multiple projects and tasks
  • Knowledge and understanding of community grants processes
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Above average skills in the use of work processing and spreadsheeting applications, electronic messaging and calendar skills
  • A passion for making a difference in the community
  • Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including the ability to:
    • Create presentations and deliver information and capacity building workshops;
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
    • Prepare correspondence and reports;
    • Negotiate and apply conflict resolution and influencing skills; and
    • Remain professional and communicate sensitive information.
