Council may require an applicant to disclose to Council the particulars of any serious disciplinary action taken against the applicant during any past employment. The applicant must comply with the requirement before the appointment, secondment or employment takes effect, and within the time and in the way stated by Council. Council is not required to further consider the person for appointment, secondment or employment if the person fails to comply with the requirement or gives false, misleading or inadequate information in response to the requirement.

Serious disciplinary action means:

termination of employment;
reduction of classification level or rank;
transfer or redeployment to other employment
reduction in remuneration level;
a written reprimand or warning; or
a disciplinary declaration under a public sector law that states that disciplinary action would have been taken against the applicant if their employment had not ended.
