About your next role:

Are you a creative industries professional that thrives on producing and programming live performance? Do you have a passion for developing local arts audiences?  We have an opportunity for an experienced Performing Arts Programming Coordinator to join the City of Logan's suite of arts and entertainment venues.  In this newly created position, you will manage the existing series of presented shows at Logan Entertainment Centre and have the opportunity to develop and curate new seasons of performances for a Blackbox style theatre and outdoor stage at the redeveloped Kingston Butter Factory Precinct.   • You'll have significant experience in producing and programming a diverse portfolio of live performance events.
  • Oversee the negotiation and preparation of performance contracts
  • Work closely with technical, production, marketing and ticketing to plan and deliver required performance logistics of the presented programme

Things we'll trust you with

In collaboration with the Programe Lead, you'll be the key decision maker for the ongoing presentation of live performance programming for the Logan Entertainment Centre and Kingston Butter Factory Precinct. This includes sourcing and contracting of touring works, developing multiple seasons/ series of work, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, managing the delivery, production finances, and evaluating the success of performances.

You will also work as a key member of the team to:

  • Align the content being procured or developed for each venue with the program's wider strategy, business objectives and community expectations offering suitable performances for both established & emerging audiences
  • Create an environment that inspires people to visit, engage and enjoy events at our venues

What you need to start:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a performing arts/creative industries discipline or a minimum of 5 years' experience in producing live performance events in similar role are highly desired
  • Experience working in Local Government or similar would be highly regarded
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Be self-motivated and possess a level of assertiveness required to achieve the position objectives with well-developed networking skills
  • Able to adhere to a dynamic working schedule to ensure appropriate event specific direction is provided to the facilities operational event teams. This includes the ability to work outside standard business hours including weekends to attend performances and events.
  • An existing knowledge and network of local, state and national industry organisations, producers and artists
  • Intermediate ability to use Artifax programming and venue software (or similar system) is highly desirable
  • Competence in a range of computer software systems including the Microsoft suite, facility and event management programs and ticketing systems
  • Susceptible for rostered for after-hours on-call duties and weekends.
  • A National Police History Check is required and may include other checks as appropriate to the role to be performed
