About your next role:

Instead of telling you what a Work Health & Injury Management Coordinator does all day, we'll tell you why you should come be a member of our team. You're a champion for work health and injury management initiatives focused on injury prevention, stay at work/return to work for work and non-work-related injuries. 

  • You'll be working productively as part of a high-performing team to ensure the achievement of outcomes, including building, maintaining, and fostering good relationships with colleagues, clients, and team members.
  • You'll be working to achieve the best outcomes for workers, managers, supervisors, and council.
  • You will be assisting to minimise impacts associated with injury and ill health.
  • You'll be partnering with stakeholders to proactively monitor health and implement injury prevention strategies .
  • You'll provide specialist expertise and advice on stay-at-work and return-to-work initiatives to workers and managers.
  • You can quickly build trust-based relationships with key stakeholders. People come to you for advice, trust your advice, and value your expertise.
  • You're a team player and have excellent communication skills.
  • You'll be the primary contact with LGW (Local Government Workcare) and operate as Council's nominated Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator.

What you need to start:

  • Appropriately qualifications as a Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Injury Management or related discipline would be highly regarded.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation in the fields of Workers' Compensation & Rehabilitation is required, along with a working knowledge of Health & Safety
  • Training qualifications would be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated high level communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including the ability to:                                     
  1. Negotiate, advocate, engage and present information clearly;
  2. Remain impartial and communicate with influence on sensitive/complex matters at all levels;
  3. Maintain strict confidentiality of information and documentation; and
  4. Deliver effective, concise, integrated, and credible options to injury management issues.
  5. Supervise a small team

Ability to provide support to injured workers with work caused or work impacting injuries or conditions.
