The opportunity The Capital Delivery Coordinator is positioned in the Sports and Community Infrastructure Branch which strives to support community wellbeing through the provision of entertainment, arts, sport, community facilities and associated services. As the Capital Delivery Coordinator, you will pride yourself in delivering major building and facilities construction projects so that the Sports and Community Infrastructure Delivery Program runs smoothly. You will have strong leadership skills with a proven track record of creating a positive environment for staff and clients. This position involves the management of a team of project managers working on a diverse portfolio of capital works projects, including sporting clubhouses, community centres and sports facilities. You will supervise this team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining a high level of quality that meets the requirements of the community. You will also have the responsibility of managing change within the Capital team, including the development and implementation of new business solutions to improve service delivery whilst also providing a high level of strategic and analytical advice to facilitate solution development. Contracts and Tenders administration shall be crucial in this role, and it will be important to establish contractual agreements including consultancy agreements and construction contracts. You will also strategically provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team to effectively achieve program goals. Strong customer service skills is a must as a project management expert and you will possess the ability to collaboratively create partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications - Possession of a relevant Degree qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management or similar is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in development of project scopes in conjunction with non-technical stakeholders to meet desired outcomes.
- Proven experience in leading a team of professionals in facility design and construction project management with a focus on leadership and organisational skills to deliver quality outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge in the project management of both the design and construction of capital projects with particular emphasis on community facilities
- Ability to act in the role of the Superintendent and the ability to administer both minor and major works construction contracts and design service agreements.
- Demonstrated ability in the preparation of tender briefs and assessment of tenders for design and construction projects.
- Proven ability to prepare written correspondence and reports with respect to minor and major works contracts.
- Highly developed oral communication skills, particularly with regard to negotiation and/or mediation of sensitive issues.
- High level of self-motivation and personal drive and a high standard of personal and professional ethics with the ability to contribute as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
